During 1987, Mcleod Manor Residential Care facility contracted with the Veterans Administration to conduct one of the nations first Health Care for Homeless Veterans Programs (HCHV). Due to our success a national VA program was established in 1987 to address the needs of chronically mentally ill veterans who were homeless (Public Law 100-6). Since 1986, we have served thousands of veterans.
The central goal Carolina Homeless Veterans program is to end homelessness among veterans through outreach efforts and community partnerships. Veterans are engaged in treatment and rehabilitation programs to enable them to achieve a better quality of life.
